About Us

In a small island of the Philippines, four sisters named Maria grew up with a love for indigenous natural materials.

Inspired by traditional crafts worn by our ancestors, we created imaginative versions of native products from their various cultures.

Adorned with fanciful beads, shells, stones and crystals, these charming pieces are transformed into handcrafted fashion accessories worthy of our forebearers.

We present this collection with pride and hope you will enjoy wearing your special piece of "Step Sistas!"

Company History

In an island back in time, the nuns in school taught us the fine art of making ourselves useful. Through vocational projects such as sewing and embroidery, it was their hope that these skills would either make our homes a better place or earn us a living and thus lead to a better life.

While the rest tried their best to escape the tediousness of the work, I discovered I had quite a knack for it. I would even do the projects of my sisters and classmates. This must have been when the seeds of what has now become Step Sistas was born.

At the start, I'd make something for myself and wear it. Sooner or later, someone would say they liked it. If I liked them enough, whatever it was they liked ended up with them. After a bit, they liked it enough to order something else.

With enough prodding, I started to sell more items. And now we have this website so more of you can see what we have. ENJOY!
